Welcome to Virtual Virtuoso Online Music Academy!

​

Our purpose is to provide daily motivation, education and support. We have four main components: Core Daily Session, Weekly Performance Opportunities, Masterclasses with Internationally Renowned guest artists, and an International Competition.

 

We also offer  individual private lessons, recorded piano accompaniment, sessions on relevant topics such as mindfulness/wellbeing, performance preparation, etc , as well as social events such as our virtual coffee-sessions!

Our core, daily feature is a daily guided practice session. This will be highly educational and quite fast-paced : over 6 weeks we will cover the main aspects of string technique in depth; both teaching you skills, and taking you through the practice techniques which enable you to build & strengthen them.

 

We will also focus on one piece of repertoire each week, offering practice techniques which implement your increased technical level and expand your personal musicianship.

 

These core sessions are suitable for all levels except complete beginners, and they will also be tailored to the needs of the individual participants who register. For those who wish to sign-up to the shorter 2-week sessions, the 1-week intensive,  or 3-day taster package, we can advise you personally on the suitability of the weeks you wish to attend.

Through this daily programme, we create a motivational basis for you to continue your own work throughout the day. However, we also endeavour to provide a concise daily programme for those who are struggling with time availability or motivation - just doing this short morning session with us will be enough to keep your instrumental ability alive! 

 

One of the most important things to teach young musicians, is how to practise, efficiently, analytically and purposefully, so they gain the most improvement and joy out of time spent with their instrument. You can hear a more about this in the welcome video.

 

Our goal is to support you and provide you with the tools to fulfil your full, individual, musical potential!

 

There are online participants’ concerts each week, and we strongly urge you to play in these, in order to maintain your performance abilities and fulfil short-term goals. It will also be a wonderful opportunity for you to hear other performers, and even socialise afterwards at our virtual coffee session.

 

There are also weekly masterclasses by members of Virtual Virtuoso Faculty or our internationally renowned guest artists. As well as performing yourself, you can learn a great deal by watching other musicians perform and receive advice in a masterclass setting.

 

Our international competition at the end of October is an exciting date in the diary! Our competition has a junior and senior section, and all Virtual Virtuoso Academy participants are granted entry to this at no extra cost, so we strongly encourage everyone to participate! The first round is by video submission, with a live streamed final at the end of October!
